The property was one of the best places I’ve stayed at. The view was amazing, the host was great and full of information. I was worried because there was no air conditioning, but the house was high on the hill got great air circulation. The house was clean and had plenty of room, and was 5 minutes from the beach. We couldn’t have asked for a better host and the location was just amazing. The house was everything and more.

Our visit in March 2022 was my first to the USVI. I can not think of a better introduction than the experience at Carmen's rest.
The location on the hill and the large covered porch provided great views of the lush topography, the town, and the bay. The facility is solidly built with lots of space for several people to have their own retreat-type environments to read, work or just relax.
Hosts Robin and Michael Jones were the best, giving us all the privacy we wanted, yet right there with excellent suggestions, tour arrangements, and history that shortened the learning curve of a new place. Carmen's Rest...Highly Recommended.

In the morning, we had coffee or tea on the balcony. Breakfast was usually in the kitchen but lunch was outdoors. I loved the kitchen (I cooked a lot) because it was stocked with everything you needed to cook in, season with, and place the food on. I was in heaven.
Our rooms were large. I lived in the sleigh bedroom. So comfortable and cozy. I had lots of room to hang my clothes and neatly store others in drawers. I loved the wide glass showers.
I was at home instantly. I enjoyed my writing desk and used it often. While writing and drawing in the morning after coffee, I had the green hills to give me inspiration. Naps were usually on the couch in my room with a borrowed book.
I went to the beach everyday (explore them all and choose the one for you). The water is blue and the coral is everywhere. Exquisite!
